All's quiet

A delicious dinner of vanilla caramelized onions with sauteed mushrooms and tomatoes over rice and now the house is quiet and dark. Izzy's in bed to rest up before her state real estate exam tomorrow. (Wish her luck!!) I'm enjoying some music on the patio and peach- flavored Arabic tobacco before calling it a night. It's been a busy week thus far, but this is a nice way to calm, center and recharge.

Goodnight, folks.

I'm feeling calorie deficient...

I'm out to get a mocha... I've got that whole hollow feeling right now, the one that usually precedes my feeling ill. I get it whenever I don't eat enough while awake. (Not that I eat while sleeping, but I can eat three meals and get that feeling if I stay up late, or get more sleep and get by with one meal.)

UPDATE: I'm back, mocha in hand. And feeling much better.

Hard at work

Ugh. . . mornings and I are back to our original arrangement. Something along the lines of: it's what time? And I'm supposed to be where right now? Crap!

I'll be back later, once I'm a little more caught up with work.

Do wargames reveal intent? Or are they merely a threat?

I'm at work today, but the two things I could be working on right now are both out of my hands. So, I can purge my hard disk and reorganize my files or I can read the news... This catches my eye early on.

SHANGHAI, China - Nearly 9,000 Russian and Chinese troops began a mock assault on the beaches of northern China Tuesday in the final stage of unprecedented joint war games between the two former Cold War rivals.

The live-fire exercise, dubbed "Peace Mission 2005," involves about 7,000 Chinese troops and 1,800 Russians, along with warships, warplanes and amphibious tanks.

This can't be making Taiwan very comfortable. China calls this an "anti-terrorism" training mission. Yeah, and I have a lovely piece of beachfront property you might be interested in. . .

Room to Grow

After trimming all the fat off the servers and paring the site down. (I know, it's hard to tell when the pages aren't linked) Our upgrade is official: 10 GBytes of space.

Now I just need to work on filling it.

Mmmm...

I am just now having my lunch which I fixed this morning. Some leftover grilled veggies from last night, plus tomatos sauteed with green onions and a basalmic glaze on a bed of honeyed brown rice.

BBQ Blogging

Yes, at last I am back online. Between working, going to Holland (pics to follow), getting over jetlag, getting sick, and finally getting better; I haven't had much time online. It feels good to be back and brushing the dust off of the site. The sitemeter kept ticking away, so thanks to those who dropped by to look for updates. I hope I didn't disappoint you too much. Tonight, Izzy & I grilled veggies for dinner. I marinated the asparagus and peppers all afternoon in the Soy Vey teriyaki marinade. The rest of the veggies were basted with a basalmic vinaigrette. Tasty!
