Back from the abyss
Wow, so I've ignored this a lot longer than I thought I had. Oops. Finals went well, I managed to complete the term with all of my hair and, with the exception of one final being approximately twice as long as the time allowed, I feel good with how I did.
So summer's here at last, and while I should have my nose to the grindstone, I as yet have no grindstone. Some might worry, but I have been surprisingly relaxed through all of this. In the meantime, I have lined up an alternative grindstone. While outside my usual resumé, I start as a personal assistant to a loan officer on Monday. It should be a pretty good job (full-time over the summer, with the potential of part-time work through fall) and I'll be doing a lot more notary signings. I also have the option of resigning that position should my internship reopen, but I am increasingly doubtful of that happening.
I have been doing some work on the website also, mostly behind the scenes stuff. The site is upgrading to a larger server in the next week or so (a 30% increase), which will give me a lot more space for photos and such. If you hit the home page, you'll notice that Izzy's blog and the site blog have been dropped from the links. I had started the S-C blog with the hopes that I could get her to blog, but to no avail. I'll continue trying to get her to write, and I'll let you know where to find her musings as soon as I succeed.
I really should be going, these are my last few days to fiddle around with all of the persoanl projects I don't have time for otherwise: digitizing media, trying to sort out what is on all of my scattered hard drives and tweaking my computers. I have been very pleased to see that iTunes 4.9 has, in addition to podcasts, added mpeg video playback. But more about that some other time.
