Ha-ha! I'm not the only one cramming to get my homework done....

Classroom Blogging
Finished my code for today just now. Luckily, the book for this class is good enough that I don't have to take copious notes. Just hearing it and reviewing his online lecture notes is plenty.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels this way. The classroom, which was completely full during the first week of the quarter, is now at 50% tops. (this is the third week) I'm not the only one with a laptop out. A couple of other students are surfing the net. (I wonder if Ed has IM running.....)
Oh, he's doing it again. Introducing a new topic with only three minutes left in lecture. I hate that! Okay, well, I'm off to the lab to finish the equations before 2.
UPDATE: Welcome Ann Althouse readers! Hope you enjoy the posts. Special thanks to my Mechanics prof for providing me the time and motivation to blog! Check back for more posts...

Flourescent Lighting....
...Just sucks the life right out of you.
That's it. I'm bailing out of this lab in search of sun. Ideally, with WiFi access. Later~

And the weather today is....
Sunny & warm witha comfortably cool breeze. And I am taking full advantage of this by sitting in the basement computer lab at school? Stupid coding homework!
No wonder I'm a pale-male.

Rain??
The morning air was thick and heavy. The sky was overcast. And then it happened...rain. And not just any rain, a warm spring rain. Certainly not our typical California weather.

The Bulimic Bicyclist
Breakfast is not worth the time or effort.
School starts up this week, and, yesterday, Izzy and I found ourselves up near Idyllwild enjoying a day out in the sun. She was up to participate in a training session for the Ronald MacDonald Good Times camps and I had been talked into riding along and bringing my bike. We arrived at the camp on time, actually, we got there early enough to have breakfast with the other volunteers who were there for the weekend. I didn't really feel like eating anything, but finally had a few pieces of bacon, an apple and a scone, washed down with plenty of water. As Izzy gathered her stuff to go to her training, I pulled out my bike and headed out.
The day was beautiful. I rode for a couple of hours in the morning. I haven't ridden my bike in ages, so I was trying to take it fairly easy. As I rode out of the camp, I found a trail that we had partially hiked when we were out here camping a year or so ago. Well aware that I am not in my best shape, I selected whichever fork in the trail going uphill. I figured, when I head back, I am going to be more tired, so I'll want an easier ride. The ride was good, strenuous, but not unpleasantly. There were enough level and downhill areas I could coast down or "rest in the saddle." I was definitely wearing down though, and fast. After flopping over in the shade at the top of some hill a couple of times, I hit a hill I couldn't crest. I dropped my bike on the side of the trail, exhausted, and collapsed next to it. I sat a few minutes feeling truly God-awful, when I felt my stomach tightening. After ridding myself of an unwanted (apparently) breakfast, I felt great. I stood up, stretched and mounted my bike. The whole time after that I felt really good. The rest of the ride would have been completely uneventful had I not gone over the handlebars once. Actually, I was using the digital camera to video the trail and I almost slipped into a rut, but caught myself. I knew that if I crashed while trying to video the trail, Izzy wouldn't have any compassion. So I put the camera away to finish the descent and ended up going over the handlebars about 50 yards downhill.
At least I wasn't filming it.
