Hey! That's My Laptop!!

Some one else is, apparently, as crazy as I am. I ran into him in the computer lab with this laptop. I love mine. I usually run about 80 things at once: Dreamweaver, Flash, AutoCAD, Windows Media, Firefox, etc. Yeah, it's heavy, but that's one way to get your workout.

Success!!

A post from this blog score's Google #1 hit for Soriano-Clark!! I also have the #1 Google hits for "Ken Soriano-Clark" & "Izzy Soriano-Clark" Score one for Ramblin!

It took long enough, sheesh... As you may or may not know, I have been trying to figure out ways to climb to the top of Google results. (See this link to Sept's archives and scroll down to "Google") The funny thing, is that my homepage has now been bumped off of the first page.... okay, so not a total success.

Well, the quest continues. I'll keep you posted.

Do the editors read these?

From the NYT, in an article on human development over time:

...nothing like the strong buttocks of Homo.

Where does one begin?

Update: Credit where credit is due: Thanks to Ann Altouse for the link. BTW, love the doodles, Ann!

No pics...I know

No pics yet, I know. I was beta testing Paint Shop Pro 9, and my license expired...so now I have to find somethig else to resize the pics, or buy PSP9. Oh, well. Don't worry, I'll figure something out by the end of the week.

Yesterday it rained again. How weird is that? For those of you not in Southern California, we don't get this much rain before New Years ever. (at least as far as I remember) But I am enjoying it. I like the rain. I like cold weather. I personally would like to live someplace where it snows, but I still have plenty of time left in my life. When I went to Starbucks, yesterday, it was pouring. The folks behind te counter looked surprised to see someone come in. I was actually disappointed that it had stopped raining by early afternoon. Yay for climate change!! (j/k)

Well, time to get back to my homework. I just didn't want to let the presses get to cold. Oh, and becase I am a terrible person, I'll leave you with this teaser: Which walls are coming out now? Next weekend's project! and How to sell your spouse on the benefits of a loft.

haha!

Black Armbands, Anyone?

So, it seems to be official. Dubya's here to stay (for another 4 years anyway). I, for one, am happy. For two reasons: First, my choice has won, which is always nice. Second, the campaign is over. Thank GOD!!! I was getting so sick of it. Mostly, I am tired of the blindingly fierce feelings of everyone around me that interferes with my ability to enjoy political satire as an escape from actual politics.

I am also looking forward to seeing what the environment at work will be like tomorrow. Will it be buzzing with discussion? Or will the After Lunch Pundits slink back to their desks, working silently? Will the Republicans be jubilant? Will the Dem's be depressed? I wonder...

Special thanks to Glenn & his Allstars at Instapundit and Will & Steve at Vodkapundit for the election day updates.

Update: Kerry is resisting concession. Looks like the After Lunch Pundits'll be buzzing tomorrow. I'm going to have to stay well below the radar tomorrow if I want to get any work done.

Tom Brokaw, hahaha

"It appears now, that the massive effort to enlist the youth vote. . . did not pay off."
-(former White House correspondent (I missed his name) speaking to Tom Brokaw)
Just because the disaffected youth went to a bunch of free concerts, doesn't mean they'll vote. I've filled out more credit card applications than I could count (falsely, of course) for a free t-shirt. Who knows what I would've done for a free concert.

UPDATE: Ann Althouse has the numbers to go with my punchline over on Instapundit.

More to Come.

In the process of downloading and resizing pics. Check back later tonight.

Don't forget to vote!

I'm Back!

Wow. Busy weekend., but I'm back.

Midterm on Friday went well, no grade back yet... Finished with time to spare.

Saturday, Izzy and I jetted off to Oakland for the drive up to Fort Bragg for a wedding. Our timing couldna't have been closer. Arrived at OAK a little past 10am, rented our car and roared off. We arrived at the hotel just before 3pm; just enough time to change in a side room and then dash down to the bluff for the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful. It was held in a little gazebo right on top of a bluff, with the guests in a circle surrounding the gazebo. The weather was cool and misty/drizzly, but didn't dampen the party at all. The only thng that dampened my share of the party was the fluids assignment I had due on Monday. Not wanting to totally bail on the party, I did the the next best thing: found a well-lit spot at the end of the bar, ordered myself a string of hearty drinks and cracked open the books. It actually worked out quite well. I got to meet a lot of guests I might not have otherwise visited with. I got to do shots with the groom. I discovered that if you bring your homework to a party, people will feel sorry for you and offer to buy you more alcohol. Oh, and I actually got homework done. Nice!

Sunday, we headed down to Berkeley to see John, Gayle & Magnus. We even got to tag along with Magnus for the first half-dozen houses he trick-or-treated. It was a lot of fun to see them, we almost had too much fun. . . we got to the airport with less than 30 minutes to go before departure. We ran to the gate after sitting in line in security (argh!) and enduring the condescending looks of the ticket agent. When we got to the plane, the gate attendant was standing there waiting for, I presumed, us. We hurried to a couple of seats in the less-than-half-full jet, and then waited for nearly an hour for some people who were coming for a late connecting flight. (All that running for nothing!)
